The authorization to supervise research has been transferred to the COMUE UBFC effective January 1, 2017.

Once you have obtained authorization to enroll, please complete and submit theadministrative enrollment applicationto the doctoral school.

The UBFC Academic Council (Restricted) meets once a month to review HDR applications. Please check with your doctoral school to find out the deadlines for submitting your application.

Candidates for the qualification to supervise research (HDR) must hold:
This provision applies, in particular, to holders of a postgraduate doctoral degree or a doctorate in engineering, supplemented by additional work or at least five years of full-time teaching and research.
Applications for enrollment may be submitted to only one institution during the same academic year. Applicants who have previously been enrolled in this degree program at another institution are required to disclose this information.
Applications for enrollment are submitted to the doctoral school and then reviewed by the president of UBFC, who makes a decision after consulting with the Academic Council—which is limited to individuals authorized to supervise research. Enrollment is granted for a period of 4 years. After this period, the candidate must submit a new application.

Notice of Thesis Defense
Once registration is complete and the dissertation is ready, the candidate may plan for the defense. The candidate must then submit a request to the administrative office of their doctoral school at least two months before the scheduled defense date.
The Director of the doctoral school and the President of the UBFC may then approve the three proposed reviewers as well as the members of the examination committee and verify compliance with current regulations. At that point, the candidate may submit the final dissertation to the three designated reviewers. Based on these reports, the President of the UBFC will decide whether or not to authorize the HDR defense.
