The UTBM’s Industrial and Commercial Activities Department (SAIC) is responsible for promoting industrial and commercial activities, particularly by helping to formulate commercial policy, proposing a pricing policy, and managing contracts for research, studies, and analyses related to the UTBM’s research activities.

Supervision of a CIFRE dissertation
CIFRE – Industrial Agreements for Training Through Research
CIFRE agreements bring together three partners—a company, a recent graduate, and a research laboratory—around a research project that will lead to the defense of a doctoral dissertation.
These agreements are intended for companies that commit to assigning a recent graduate (with a master’s degree) to conduct research in direct collaboration with an external laboratory.
The CIFRE programs are managed and coordinated bythe National Association for Technical Research (ANRT) on behalf of the Ministry of National Education, Higher Education, and Research.
During the three-year term of the agreement, the company receives an annual lump-sum subsidy from the ANRT.
Eligibility Requirements
The renewal of the national campaign for doctoral contracts for students with disabilities is fully in line with the framework established by the government at the Interministerial Committee on Disability onSeptember 20, 2017. The goal is to expand the pool of young graduates with disabilities at the highest level and, in particular, to facilitate the recruitment of faculty members and researchers.

The European Institute of Innovation and Technology (EIT) is an independent European body designed to strengthen the European Union’s capacity for innovation. The EIT fosters entrepreneurial talent and supports new ideas driven by stakeholders in the “knowledge triangle”—research centers, businesses, and universities—by promoting the formation of cross-border partnerships known as Innovation Communities (referred to as KICs, or Knowledge and Innovation Communities). The EIT is an integral part of Horizon 2020, the European Union’s framework program for research and innovation.
The call for projects (AAP) “Accelerating the Development of High-Performance Innovation Ecosystems” is part of the Investments for the Future Program (PIA). It aims to fund research, development, and innovation projects led by companies based in France that build upon the work and findings of public research laboratories, research commercialization organizations, or research institutes located in France.
Only projects that fall within the theme of sustainable transportation, logistics, and mobility are eligible for this call for proposals.
The purpose of the call for proposals is to select industrial projects that develop ambitious, innovative, and sustainable technologies, services, and/or solutions in the fields of transportation (passenger or freight), logistics, and mobility. These projects lead to significant economic growth for the companies that develop them.

The L’Oréal Foundation, in partnership with UNESCO and the French Academy of Sciences, is pleased to announce the opening of the call for applications for the 2018 edition of the FRANCE L’Oréal-UNESCO Fellowships for Women in Science.
Established in 2007, this program aims to identify and recognize talented young female researchers. A total of 200 young women have received a FRANCE L’Oréal-UNESCO For Women in Science Fellowship.
In 2018, the L'Oréal Foundation will award 30 scholarships:
• grants of €15,000 each to female doctoral students,
• in the amount of €20,000 each to female postdoctoral researchers.

Four new funding programs under the “Make Our Planet Great Again” initiative—in which Campus France is a full partner—are set to be launched.
Launched on June 2, 2017 by the President of the Republic, the “Make Our Planet Great Again” initiative has collected 11,000 messages from students, researchers, teachers, entrepreneurs, and NGO leaders. To date, more than 5,000 messages have been received in the “student” and “researcher” categories. These submissions come from about 100 countries, with the majority from the United States (61%). They are largely focused on the fields of energy, ecosystems, the atmosphere, and oceanography.
In addition to the program for long-term researchers—coordinated by MESRI and implemented by the CNRS and the ANR, which has already selected 18 researchers— I am pleased to announce the launch of four new programs under the “Make Our Planet Great Again” initiative, coordinated by Campus France and funded by the Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs (MEAE) and the Ministry of Higher Education, Research, and Innovation (MESRI).
• A co-funding program for doctoral contracts: Institutions will receive €50,000 in co-funding to host a doctoral student for 3 years. Approximately 20 doctoral students will receive funding for dissertations beginning in 2018.
• A co-funding program for postdoctoral fellowships: Host institutions will receive co-funding of €25,000 for one year and €50,000 for two years to host a postdoctoral fellow. Between 20 and 40 postdoctoral fellows will be funded for fellowships beginning in 2018.
• A program for short-term research stays: funding for stays ranging from 14 days to 5 months for doctoral students or researchers in France. At least 40 mobility grants were awarded for stays in 2018 alone.
A scholarship program offering €1,060 per month for students who wish to pursue a two-year master’s degree or a one-year Master 2 program (leading to a master’s degree): approximately 50 scholarships are available for the 2018 academic year.
All of these calls for proposals are now open, and applications may be submitted from March 12 through April 6 (March 30 for the Ph.D. program). The selection process will involve experts and an international committee representing the various fields covered by the call for proposals.
