On Saturday, November 16, before an audience of more than 2,500 attendees, UTBM officially awarded 645 engineering degrees (the largest graduating class in the past 20 years), 70 master’s degrees, 10 university diplomas, and UTBM honorary doctorate medals to Brigitte Bachelard, Director of the prestigious Haute-Ecole Arc (Neuchâtel).

This grand ceremony brought together engineering students, master’s and doctoral graduates, their families, as well as professors, staff, and the administration of the University of Technology.

By awarding 645 engineering degrees across 9 specializations in undergraduate, continuing education, and apprenticeship programs, UTBM also ranks 7th among French engineering schools in terms of the number of graduates per year. Together with its sister institutions in Compiègne (UTC) and Troyes (UTT), France’s universities of technology train 9% of the country’s engineers.

73 new engineers graduated through the apprenticeship program and 5 through continuing education. There were 72 international students, and 20% of the graduates were women.

On this occasion, the UTBM Foundation presented three awards:
> Award of Excellence: Jonathan PERICHON, who graduated with a degree in engineering from UTBM in 2013 and has been co-founder and CEO of CHECKR in San Francisco since 2014
> Alumni Award: Boris LEMAIRE and Guillaume AYRAL, graduates of the class of 2014, for their social entrepreneurship project EKFA (a kit for producing and storing electricity in an inexpensive and sustainable manner)
> Student Award: Eliot MICHEL-STAHL and Alexandre REVUZ, engineering students, for their startup project (STAHL-REVUZ Watchmaking House) in the luxury field of fine watchmaking
