The news has just come in! UTBM has reaffirmed its place among the world’s top higher education and research institutions, according to the CWUR international rankings.
Published on June 1, 2026, this year’s Center for World University Rankings evaluation assesses 21,291 institutions worldwide. Only the top 2,000 institutions appear in the published rankings.
In this highly competitive environment, UTBM ranks 1,328th worldwide, placing it among the top 6.3% of institutions globally.
Beyond the number itself, this ranking is above all a testament to a trajectory built over time. In just a few years, UTBM has gone from ranking outside the top 2,000 worldwide to securing a lasting place among the top 10 percent of ranked institutions.
This development is all the more significant given that UTBM remains a very small institution compared to many of the multidisciplinary universities included in this international ranking.
The CWUR is distinguished by a methodology based entirely on objective indicators related to the quality of education, employability, faculty, and research. No self-reported data is provided by the institutions themselves, which gives this ranking a degree of independence and comparability that is widely recognized internationally.
