Fei GAO, a professor at UTBM, receives the Léon-Nicolas Brillouin Award

Transmitting energy without transmitting matter, venturing into information coding and the foundations of cryptography… Between France and the United States, between the academic world and the industrial world, Léon-Nicolas Brillouin transcended boundaries, just as his research did in the fields of waves and information theory.

UTBM is proud to see one of its faculty members follow in the footsteps of this Franco-American physicist. Congratulations, Professor FEI GAO! Your work in the field of electrical systems—particularly fuel cells—has been recognized with the Léon-Nicolas Brillouin Prize.

Presented by the Society for Electronics, Electrical Engineering, and Information Technology, this award aims to promote interaction between basic research, higher education, and industry, and to contribute to the knowledge triangle: science, technology, and innovation.
The integration of renewable energy, the transformation of power grids to enable ever-cleaner and more responsible energy production and distribution… there’s no doubt that scientific challenges abound and are shaping the world today. These are all challenges for which our society needs researchers like you!
