For them, it’s a dream come true—a dream born of mentorship, hard work, and learning, right in the heart of the French automotive industry.
Yesterday, the students and instructors of the Espera Sbarro program at UTBM saw their “Hommage 550” prototype win an award at the Argus Awards.
By taking third place in the jury’s special prize, they highlight the expertise and values of a training program that is unique in Europe in the field of fashion design and prototyping.
A symbolic tribute alongside innovative vehicles such as the legendary Renault Twingo, the Mazda France Iconic SP, the Peugeot Inception, and the Alpine 290B. “What if, to celebrate its 50th anniversary, the Matra brand decided in 2023 to relaunch one of its iconic models—the Bagheera—with a contemporary design?” That was the challenge presented to the students of the 2022–2023 class.
Starting from scratch, they devoted four and a half months to this educational project, with the goal of gaining as much hands-on experience as possible during its construction in order to present it at Le Mans Classic 2023.
