[Lab 4.0] A New Teaching Tool at UTBM!
We are very proud to announce the opening of our new Lab 4.0 in Sevenans, a state-of-the-art educational facility that will enhance our engineering and continuing education programs.
What is Lab 4.0?
- A fully digitized educational laboratory that simulates new industrial production methods. Lab 4.0 features an educational assembly line equipped with advanced automation systems, such as a hybrid robotic and manual production line, and many other disruptive technologies.
- An educational tool designed to benefit students and professionals, allowing them to test their skills and hone their expertise in conditions that closely resemble those in the industrial world, in a variety of fields such as flow and production management, cycle time calculation, production line design, robotics, automation, and data analysis.
The project benefits not only our degree programs inindustriallogistics, mechanical engineering,industrialengineering,computer science, and other fields, but also our continuing education programs, by offering high-quality learning opportunities to a wide audience, particularly through certification courses.
We chose to partner with a local industry expert with over 40 years of recognized experience in the automotive and aerospace sectors. The companyiQantoFIRAC, based in Etupes (25), was involved in the project as part of a joint effort to share expertise in defining and implementing the platform, as well as identifying the instructional modules. As part of this effort, UTBM actively participated in the production of 3D-printed and machined parts.
The total investment, amounting to more than €600,000, was made possible thanks to crucial support from:
