As China’s historic gateway to the Western world, the megacity of Shanghai is home to the world’s largest industrial companies and, since 2005, a small piece of French expertise—that of the Universities of Technology—in training engineers “the French way,” who are capable of understanding technology and its applications and of working in a multicultural world.

UTSEUS is the Sino-French University, established through a joint initiative by the Group of Technology Universities and Shanghai University. This week, it is hosting three university presidents: Claire Rossi of the University of Technology of Compiègne (UTC), Ghislain Montavon of the University of Technology of Belfort-Montbéliard, and Christophe Collet of the University of Technology of Troyes.
In particular, they will meet with French students immersed in this innovative ecosystem. This will be an opportunity to recognize the many graduates who are now pursuing careers in Asia—some of whom have been working there for nearly 20 years in sectors such as energy and the automotive industry.

UTSEUS brings together more than 1,200 French and Chinese students studying across the UT Group’s various campuses. Hats off to the faculty and teaching staff involved!
