The QS World University Rankings is an annual university ranking published by the British rating agency Quacquarelli Symonds (QS, https://www.qs.com/).
It is one of the three most prestigious university rankings, along with the Times Higher Education (THE) and Shanghai rankings.
The 2024 edition of the QS Subject Rankings lists the top 1,559 institutions worldwide across 55 disciplines within five major academic fields.
A total of 73 French universities or schools appear in this ranking. This places France fourth in the world, behind China and ahead of Germany, the United States, and the United Kingdom, which hold first and second place, respectively. In total, French institutions appear 516 times in the subject-specific rankings.
The Belfort-Montbéliard University of Technology appears for the first time in this highly selective ranking, placing in the 551–600 rangee of the world’s top institutions in the field of “physics.”
This marks the fourth global ranking in which UTBM has been included, alongside the following international rankings:
