Twenty years after establishing its first research platform on hydrogen energy, UTBM continues to lead the way by establishing itself as a major academic player on the European hydrogen landscape.

UTBM is proud to announce that it is a founding member of the European Hydrogen Academy— HyAcademie.EU.

HyAcademy.EU, the European Hydrogen Academy, is an initiative funded by the EUROPEAN COMMISSION under the Horizon Europe program. It aims to transform the educational landscape to support the growing hydrogen industry.

Given the rapidly growing hydrogen market and the projected demand for more than one million skilled workers in Europe by 2030, HyAcademy.EU, the European Hydrogen Academy, is built around a consortium of 15 partners (and 2 associate partners), led by the University of Birmingham (UK).

With a focus on sustainable practices and industry-specific skills, the European Hydrogen Academy is a comprehensive strategic initiative designed to provide the European labor market with expertise in hydrogen technology, with the following objectives:

• Fostering Basic Knowledge in Schools
• Developing Technological Expertise in Vocational Education
• Strengthening knowledge of disruptive technological innovation (“DeepTech”) at the university level

HyAcademy.EU, the European Hydrogen Academy, aims to establish a comprehensive educational pathway, from the classroom to a professional career, and plans to roll out its program, initially, at 100 universities and 500 middle and high schools across Europe.

HyAcademy.EU is fully aligned with the National Hydrogen School initiative, led by the Bourgogne-Franche-Comté Regional Council and all regional stakeholders, by helping to expand its reach internationally.
