Technology brings people together and builds bridges… Our students travel the world as part of their studies and take courses in 8 foreign languages. 8… plus 1, actually.
And we’re particularly proud of that last one: French as a foreign language. Sixty-eight nationalities are represented on our campuses, as we welcome many ERASMUS students each semester, in particular, who are motivated to learn French during their stay. Furthermore, UTBM is proud to have been awarded the FLE (French as a Foreign Language) certification for a period of four years, with the highest rating of three stars in all areas of the evaluation criteria.

This certification, issued by the French Ministries of Europe and Foreign Affairs, Higher Education, Research, and Innovation, and Culture, “serves to identify, recognize, and promote centers for French as a foreign language whose language programs and services meet quality standards.”

There are currently five levels of French as a Foreign Language (FLE) available to any student interested in these programs, particularly to achieve the B2 level—which is mandatory for non-French-speaking students—but also including courses more specific to engineering.
