[AI and Healthcare] Improving patient care and reducing the burden on healthcare providers.
UTBM is proud to be involved in a world-class French project in the field of critical care, in collaboration with the Sinergies laboratory, the Besançon University Hospital (CHRU), and the Besançon-based company Cisteo MEDICAL.
The Alison++ project aims to create the first medical device for personalized and automated management of sedation and analgesia in intensive care. An automated monitoring system will use artificial intelligence, combined with the collective intelligence of the healthcare teams, to provide continuous analysis that objectively assesses the patient’s comfort, level of sedation, and pain intensity, while generating early warnings.
At the same time, the project calls for the development of a second innovative medical device: a smart, self-operated syringe pump connected to the software platform.
The Bourgogne-Franche-Comté Region, which provides funding through the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF), is establishing itself as a hub for innovation in digital health, as exemplified by this open innovation project that brings together leading medical teams, researchers in artificial intelligence and medical engineering, and industrial partners.
