What Kind of Engineers Will We Have Tomorrow? The goal of the French model of Technology Universities—which brings together the Belfort-Montbéliard University of Technology (UTBM), the Compiègne University of Technology (UTC), and the Troyes University of Technology (UTC)—is to train competent, responsible engineers who are also active citizens.
While our students were enjoying the last few days of summer break, the UT Group teams wrapped up their return to work with two joint working sessions on the issues driving change at the university:
- Training and education, research, industry relations, and more—best practices and areas for improvement were discussed on August 24 and 25 during the Inter’UT meeting in Compiègne
- Environmental and Social Responsibility: Training Our Staff and Students, Continuing the Transformation of Our Universities—A Seminar Held on August 28, 29, and 30 in Luxeuil-les-Bains
Thank you to the outstanding organizers and speakers, particularly on the topic of economic and social transition, including Géraldine Thiry, professor of economics at the Catholic University of Louvain, who is joining the Executive Board of the National Bank of Belgium, Alexandre Monnin, a faculty member and researcher at ESC Clermont Business School; and Stéphane Crozat and Valerie Moreau, faculty members and researchers at the University of Technology of Compiègne (UTC).
