We are pleased to inform you that, following the audit conducted by AFNOR from May 23 to 28, our certifications have been renewed.
Ghislain Montavon would like to extend his heartfelt thanks to all staff members for their commitment to complying with health, workplace safety, and environmental regulations, and would like to inform you that, in May 2020, to ISO 45001 certification, replacing the OHSAS 18001 certification, which is being phased out.
The certifying body identified a number of strengths, including:
• The goal of making UTBM a model university in the area of HSE and of being a socially responsible and committed institution that places HSE responsibility at the heart of its strategy,
• the involvement of all stakeholders,
• students' understanding of the risks and the rules they must follow,
• Active involvement of the CHSCT, particularly in new projects.
A few areas of concern were also identified, which require action:
• Develop prevention plans with partner institutions or organizations housed on campus,
• Find a technical solution for the outdoor storage of oily machining chips,
• Ensure that gas cylinders are always properly secured.
