The UTBM team took second place at the 2021 World Robot Summit!
UTBM was among the European universities selected for the global robotics challenge, WRS (World Robot Summit), recently organized by the Japanese government and Toyota, Japan’s leading automaker.
A total of 11 teams from around the world competed (including 5 participating remotely due to the health crisis) in this international robotics summit. It was up to them to put their thinking caps on to program the robots—provided by Toyota to each team—with the intelligence needed to tackle two challenges during the competition:
– move objects from incorrect locations to a predetermined storage area,
– deliver food stored on a shelf to a person within a group while avoiding obstacles during navigation.
The UTBM team proudly took second place out of the five teams competing remotely.
Congratulations!
