130 UTBM students took part in the 2016 24-Hour Innovation Challenge. They won first prize in the Europe category.
This competition, organized by the École de Technologie Supérieure (ETS) in Montreal, Canada, brings together more than 2,500 students this year

The challenge involves working on industrial or academic problems simultaneously across multiple universities worldwide and submitting the results (specifications, solution concepts, sketches, CAD models) 24 hours later.
UTBM distinguished itself in previous editions by winning first prize in the international category with the SEVEN project, a smart streetlight designed to reduce light pollution in cities (effects of artificial light on the nocturnal environment in the broadest sense + direct consequences for health and wildlife).
