Belfort e-start—you’ve surely heard of this project to create an energy-self-sufficient neighborhood. The national sustainable city demonstration project is located in Belfort, the “City of Energy,” at the heart of the Techn’Hom industrial site and our campus.
UTBM is proud to be involved in this innovative project alongside Grand Belfort, TANDEM, and Enedis. More broadly, our partnership with Enedis is reflected in today’s renewal of the Enedis Chair at UTBM, which focuses on energy-related research topics—particularly those that are currently in the spotlight: energy efficiency and sustainable development.

Hydrogen and mobility: Today, the French company MINCATEC Energy—a leader in hydrogen storage—unveiled its MHYTHIC vehicle. UTBM is proud to collaborate with Mincatec on solid-state hydrogen storage in the form of intermetallic hydrides, showcasing our expertise—primarily that of the FEMTO-ST Institute.
