Each year, the International Academy of Production Engineering awards the Frederick Winslow TAYLOR Medal to a single person worldwide under the age of 35, in recognition of exceptional merit in original research.
For the third time since 1958, the year it was first awarded, this medal has been presented to a researcher conducting work at a French institution.
Yicha ZHANG, an associate professor at the University of Technology of Belfort-Montbéliard (UTBM), is the 2021 recipient of this prestigious award.
He conducts his research at the ICB joint research unit (UBFC – uB* – UTBM* – CNRS) on integrated design and planning for additive manufacturing and hybrid additive manufacturing processes. He teaches engineering students at UTBM about additive manufacturing processes.
