Thank you to the Air and Space Force for hosting 17 UTBM students majoring in Mechanical Engineering and Ergonomics on Wednesday!
Accompanied by their teachers (and aviation enthusiasts) Hugues BAUME and Thierry Rouxel, they had the honor of getting up close to the famous Mirage 2000s and meeting the professionals who work with them: pilots, mechanics, and instructors.
In return, the students presented three model aircraft (a Canadair CL415 and a North American P-51D Mustang) and one model helicopter (an Airbus Helicopters H145) that they had built as part of their semester-long course, with each model requiring 800 hours of work.
This is also an opportunity to discuss the “Pando” project—a surveillance aircraft and support project for Canadair operations run by the Directorate General of Civil Security and Crisis Management—on which UTBM students are currently working.
A spotlight on this unique program, which trains engineers to lead the design of innovative, user-centered, and environmentally friendly products.
