The Franco-Swiss Jura Arc is one of the most industrially dense regions in Europe, with nearly 350,000 jobs in the cross-border cooperation areas, primarily in industrial small and medium-sized enterprises (microtechnology, mechanical engineering, watchmaking, plastics processing, etc.).
Despite this industrial clout, many companies continue to face major challenges to their competitiveness: the digitization of complex products, the appeal of their applications, differentiation from international competitors, and more…
This is precisely where user experience (UX) becomes a key driver… and while European companies recognize this, fewer than one-third of them have actually developed a structured approach centered on the user experience—from the initial interaction with a product or service through to its daily use.
UTBM is proud to be the French lead partner in the Franco-Swiss UX Arc Nexus project, which aims to support industrial SMEs in the Franco-Swiss Jura Arc region in integrating user experience (UX) into their products. The goal is to develop a scalable web platform combining diagnostic tools, practical resources, a network of experts, and certification training. By combining smart digital solutions with human support, the project aims to strengthen local UX skills and improve cross-border industrial competitiveness. The Interreg France-Switzerland project began in January and will run for two years. It is being conducted jointly with the Haute Ecole Arc – Ingénierie, in partnership with ESTA School and the companies Raccoon and Rollomatic SA.
The project is co-funded by the European Union.
