Mini Transat 2023: It's showtime for Laure GALLEY!
A graduate of the 14th class of UTBM and a professional skipper, Laure has just set off solo in the Mini-Transat La Boulangère Les Sables d'Olonne-Saint-François (Guadeloupe) aboard a mini class sailboat (6.5 m max) without satellite weather routing or contact with land.
An electric-powered single-wheel wheelchair from the Arc-en-ciel Foundation
There are 20 of them. And they make UTBM proud. Antoine VARRET is an associate professor of mechanical engineering. He brought 19 students from the “Ergonomics, Design, and Mechanical Engineering” department along with him on an exciting project: designing an electric-powered single-wheel wheelchair for the residents of Mas de la Mosaique.
Zero-Waste Design Award
UTBM is proud to see the hard work of two of its students in the Mechanical Engineering & Ergonomics program—Ilysa Binti Abd Ghafar and Mohamad Aliff Hakim Bin Rostam—recognized. They won the Sytcom prize in the “Zero Waste Design” competition.

Following the UTBM’s signing of the Grenoble Agreement in January 2023 and in accordance with its commitments, the UTBM is organizing several notable initiatives this academic year as part of the ecological transition toward sustainable development: an XXL climate mural, designed to raise awareness among 400 students and staff members.
